ABOUT

A studio of one. Built on attention.

Began in 2018, across marketing, real estate, and consumer-tech — as brand strategist, content lead, and designer. Brand, product, and writing have always sat close in the work; the studio is what happens when they collapse into a single practice.

My way into the work came from two disciplines that don’t usually share a room. Architecture — the habit of a measured line that has to earn its place before the next one is drawn. Philosophy — the argument that holds a position together before anything is built. Most of my projects start the same way: a position written down, then composed outward from there.

What I do most often: websites, brand systems, editorial. End-to-end, from the strategic position down to the deployed code. The work tends to be calm where the category is loud, and to break form somewhere quiet. One project at a time.

I like the work. The aim is usable and exact — with one decision that wasn’t there before.

HOW I WORK

Async, in writing.

I work asynchronously. Briefs, decisions, and approvals happen in writing. This is not a side note; it is the operating model.

Async work makes room for thinking. Drafts can be revisited, decisions can be reread, the brief stays a document instead of dissolving into a conversation. The result is a clearer position, faster delivery, and fewer interruptions on both sides.

PRINCIPLES

Three principles.

01

Strategy first.

Strategy comes before visuals. The first artefact is always a written argument — what the work stands for, what it refuses, who it is for. Visual decisions follow that, not the other way around.

02

Systems, not artefacts.

A logo is the smallest visible part of a system. I build the grid, the type scale, the tone, the motion language — so the brand can speak across surfaces I will never touch.

03

One project at a time.

Studio of one means full presence. Each engagement gets the entire attention of the studio. No second teams, no sub-contracted work, no parallel chaos.

OUT OF SCOPE

What I don't do.

  • No open-ended retainers. Ongoing partnerships run as fixed retainers over a defined quarter or season.
  • No spec work or unpaid pitches. Proposals follow paid discovery.

PORTFOLIO NOTE

The catalogue is selective by intent. One project at a time, public where possible. The work shown represents the directions I’m open to taking on.
